Every couple gets the same questions in the weeks before the wedding. A FAQ on your wedding website answers them once, for everyone, and saves you a few dozen messages.
Here are the twenty questions guests ask most, with short sample answers to adapt. Keep yours to one or two sentences each, in your own voice.
The day itself
- What should I wear? "Festive and comfortable. The ceremony is on grass, so think twice about thin heels."
- What time should I arrive? "Please arrive by 4:00 pm. The ceremony starts at 4:30 pm sharp."
- Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors? "Outdoors in the garden, with the dinner indoors."
- What happens if it rains? "We have a covered terrace ready. The plan stays the same, just drier."
- How long will the celebration last? "Dancing ends at midnight, with taxis and the shuttle from 12:00 am."
Guests
- Can I bring a plus one? "If your invitation says 'and guest', yes. Otherwise we kept it to the names on the card, and we hope you understand."
- Are kids invited? "We love your little ones, but our celebration is adults only. We hope this gives you a night off." Or, if they are welcome: "Kids are very welcome. There is a quiet room off the hall."
- When do I need to RSVP by? "Please reply by November 21 so we can tell the kitchen."
- I have a dietary need. What should I do? "Tell us on the RSVP form and the kitchen will take care of you."
- Can I change my RSVP? "Yes, just send it again with the new answer, or message us."
Getting there
- Where is the venue? "Liberty House, 11 Park St, Montclair. The venue page has a map and directions."
- Is there parking? "Free parking at the venue, and a shuttle from the hotels."
- Where should I stay? "We have a room block at two hotels nearby. Mention our names when you book."
- Is there transport after the party? "A shuttle leaves for the hotels at midnight and 12:30 am."
- Is the venue accessible? "Yes, every space is on one level, and there are accessible restrooms."
Gifts, photos and the rest
- Do you have a registry? "Your company is the gift. If you'd like to give something, there is a honeymoon fund on the RSVP page."
- Can I take photos during the ceremony? "We're having an unplugged ceremony, so please keep phones away until we're married. After that, snap away."
- How do I share my photos? "Scan the code on your table and add them to our gallery. We'd love to see the day through your eyes."
- Will there be food and drinks between the ceremony and dinner? "Yes, drinks and canapés on the terrace while we take photos."
- Who do I contact with a question? "Message our maid of honor, Ana, at the number on your invitation."
Where to put your FAQ
Put it where guests are already planning: under the schedule, or on its own page in the site's menu. A FAQ that opens and closes question by question keeps the page short on a phone.
Keep it current
Answers change: the shuttle time moves, a hotel fills up, the weather plan becomes the plan. Because the website sits behind a QR code on the invitation, you can update the answers any time and every printed invitation shows the latest version. More on changing what a printed code opens.
The rest of the site
The FAQ is one page of five. See our wedding website examples for the home page, your story, the schedule, travel, RSVP and photos, and everything a wedding website built in KuikCode can do. For the photos question, here is how to collect wedding photos from guests.
Frequently asked questions
01What should be in a wedding website FAQ?+
The dress code, whether kids and plus ones are invited, parking and transport, the weather plan, the RSVP deadline, gifts, dietary needs and photos. Add anything specific to your venue or travel.
02How long should wedding FAQ answers be?+
One or two sentences each. Guests read them on a phone, so a short, friendly answer works better than a paragraph.
03How do you say no kids politely on a wedding website?+
Keep it short and warm: "We love your little ones, but our celebration is adults only. We hope this gives you a night off." It answers the question without a long explanation.
04Where should the FAQ go on a wedding website?+
On the schedule or details page, or its own page in the menu. Guests look for it while planning their day, so near the timeline works well.
